- Summary
- Fleeing North Carolina after a career-derailing lapse in judgment, travel writer Zoë Norris returns to her native New York City in an attempt to make a fresh start. She talks her way into a job with Underground Publishing, a vampire-owned press whose city-themed guidebooks cater to the "coterie" (members of this highly secretive supernatural community take offense at the term "monster"). However, as the only human on staff, Zoë must quickly learn to navigate a society whose citizens would sooner eat her than employ her. - Description by Gillian Speace
